ULTRAPATH XII: Conference on Diagnostic Electron Microscopy with Surgical, Clinical, and Molecular Pathology Correlations

Following the success of the 20th year celebration of the Ultrapath conferences in Aspen two years ago, it is our pleasure to invite you to the XIIth meeting of the Society for Ultrastructural Pathology, to be held on July 11-16, 2004, in the lively and attractive city of Barcelona, Spain.

The Society for Ultrastructural Pathology is an international association of electron microscopists formed in 1986. The Society supports and promotes the application of electron microscopy in the diagnosis and research of human diseases. The academic objectives of the Society are carried out at the Companion Meeting of the annual United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology Meeting and at the biennial UltraPath conferences. 

The scientific program in Ultrapath XII will cover diagnostic Electron Microscopy, as well as diagnostic Pathology - with immunohistochemical and molecular correlations - and translational research. Renowned experts in the field from both sides of the Atlantic will present updated, comprehensive reviews of significant areas of Pathology. In addition, a new section of the meeting will be devoted to a Pathology Review Course. Platform and Poster presentations will also be an important part of the program. The Ultrapath XII Organizing Committee invites authors to submit abstracts to be considered for presentation. The Conference is designed for practicing surgical pathologists, trainees, and other scientists involved in pathological diagnosis and research. 

The meeting will be held at the Fira Palace Hotel, which is next to the emblematic Montjuïc Park, with its Olympic Stadium complex, historic buildings, world class museums, promenades, and colorful fountains, and which is also conveniently linked with both the active city center and the airport.
